The Birth of HARIO<\/h3>\n

In 1921, HARIO’s founder, Hiromu Shibata, established his glass factory in Kanda Sudacho, Tokyo to start the production of laboratory glassware.<\/p>\n

The name HARIO comes from the ancient Japanese word for glass (\u73bb\u7483,\u00a0hari<\/em>), and the Japanese word for king (\u738b,\u00a0\u014d<\/em>). HARIO (or \u73bb\u7483\u738b) therefore means \u201cthe King of Glass\u201d. A suitable name for a company with an ambition to become the world’s number one glass manufacturer.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

At HARIO, we are devoted to delivering the highest quality products to our customers across the globe.\u00a0We may have originally started out as manufacturers of heat-proof glass, but we aim to innovate and move forward.<\/p>\n

With the release of our first coffee siphon in 1948, we moved into the wonderful world of coffee. We continued to experiment and\u00a0improve, and in\u00a02005, after a long development process, the V60 coffee dripper was released, taking the coffee world by storm.<\/p>\n

The V60 uses a cone-shape, spiralled ribs and a single large hole in the bottom to give the brewer great control over the flow of water and air. This in turn allows for a lot of flexibility and control over the flavour of the coffee, making the V60 a great tool to experiment and get the best out of any bean. By the way, the V60 got its name from its conical \u2018V\u2019-shape and its 60-degree angle.<\/p>\n
